The Pineapple Story

Have you ever listened to the Pineapple Story? Even if you have, I'd encourage you to plug your phone into your car and play it again on the way to work, or play it while you're cooking your next meal . . . or during your next lunch break . . . however you find time, I'm sure you won't regret it. =) I started jotting down different things Otto Koning said last time I listened to this story to share with you, and realized it would be better if I just shared the whole thing instead.

I especially like the point he makes in this video about the difference between being a Christian and being a disciple --

"'You can’t be a Christian and own a garden at the same time.' . . . Now what was he saying? . . . 'Unless you forsake all that you have, you can’t be my disciple.' Discipleship means lordship. You can be born again, and fight for your rights, but you can’t be His disciple, because if you’re His disciple, then He’s your Lord -- then He's Lord of all.  . . . That’s the Christianity that witnesses to others, that’s the Christianity that shows."

Are you letting Christ be Lord of all in your life - are you truly His disciple? Or are you holding on to something?

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Matthew 16:24
