QR Code Tracts

Ephesians 5:15 says, "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise." Circumspect comes from the Latin circumspectus, which is the past participle of circumspicere: to look around: circum- + spec (to look - think spectacles) + -tus (past participle suffix). Have you ever walked into some new and beautiful building and stood in the middle of a room as you turned yourself around to take it all in? That's an image that could be portrayed from this verse. Cultures change from generation to generation, and though the Gospel never changes, our approach to how we share it may change as we walk "circumspectly": carefully observing the times in which we live and studying the people we want to reach for Christ.

That's why I'm excited about this QR tract. When I look around, I see QR codes everywhere. They're on posters, business cards, cereal boxes, even on our recent hotel bill and the little Chiquita stickers on our bananas in the kitchen. So why not use QR codes as a messenger of the Gospel? I made a QR code that goes straight to NeedGod.com (check it out, you'll love it). All people have to do is scan this QR, and just like that, they have an interactive, "electronic tract" right there on their phone that they can read while they're waiting on their boyfriend/girlfriend/sister/brother or whoever else to hurry up and finish their shopping, because they're getting super bored sitting on the bench by the door. ;)

Below is the sheet I used to print these codes out. Feel free to click it to full size and save it to your computer to use yourself. I suggest printing them on a card stock and then once their cut, dropping them off at places like the mall, where there'll be more youth who have smartphones and are familiar with the codes and how to read them. I like to think of this tract as a message in a bottle - people don't know what it says until they "open it up" and the fact that it's a QR code makes it intriguing (plus it's an excuse to use their phone's QR scanner). The website NeedGod.com is interactive, and shares the Gospel clearly. If you use these - let me know how it works for you and if you see people scanning them onto their phone! I'd love to hear about it. Until then - God be with you and may He give you boldness and power in sharing what is our joy and salvation!

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you;
that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.
II Corinthians 9:8
