I love this time of year! It's so nice to gather as a family and read through the Christmas story once again-- pointing out this or that detail that hadn't stood out to us before. . . thanking the Lord for recording such an event for our instruction. . . acknowledging His love and generosity by giving to each other-- stopping for a day to truly rejoice in the birth of our precious Savior!!

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23
And thou shalt have joy and gladness;
and many shall rejoice at his birth.
Luke 1:14

It's been so strange not to have Stephen with us this year... we sure do miss him! He says he's glad his staying in Afghanistan right now means some other soldier gets to go home and be with his family. Please continue to pray for Stephen, that God would show Himself strong through him!

On a lighter note, John Paul and Sarah (and little Tate junior!) have joined us for a while!
Had to share this picture of one of Melissa's creative gift projects this month... look a little familiar? :)

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and took the time to thank the Lord heartily for giving us such a glorious hope in The Baby,
Christ Jesus!
